INDUSTRIAL GASES IN COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
The majority of weld mixes sold is 75% Argon, 25% CO2. This mixture is used for your most basic standard mig welding. Colorado Compressed Gases can also supply other mixes as well such as tri-mixes upon request.
Nitrogen has many application uses as well. Many use it to run tools such as Dentist or mechanics. Nitrogen is also used to fill tires. Nitrogen can be used for welding applications as well when welding something that may have contained oxygen, the nitrogen is used to purge out the oxygen. Finally, Nitrogen is used along with Carbon Dioxide in many of today's popular beers.
Oxygen & Acetylene
Of course oxygen and Acetylene are used primarily for cutting things, but many glass blowers use oxygen to design many unique items. Colorado Compressed Gases can also fill medical oxygen tanks with a prescription.
Propane & Chemtane
Propane has many applications such as using it for heat, cooking on a grill, and even using it to make jewelry. Propane can also be used with oxygen to cut things. Chemtane is a newer product which consist of propane and an additive. Chemtane can also be used along with oxygen to cut things. The nice thing about Chemtane is that it burns cleaner than acetylene and gets hotter. A tank of Chemtane will also typically last longer than the same size acetylene tank as it is a much more efficient gas.
Argon gas is typically used in TIG welding. It can also be used when welding Aluminum and stainless steel. In some instances, argon has been used in the process of wine preservation.
Who knew a by-product waste gas could have so many uses. Carbon Dioxide or CO2 is used in the production of soda and beer. CO2 can also be used for simple welding. It it also used in green houses, as it promotes better plant growth. In some cases, just like nitrogen, it can be used to inflate tires.
